There is
a plan to build a small dormitory to house those who need it and to fence the
property to make it more secure.
In
addition, there is a serious need to raise funds to provide a lunch program, as
many of the girls go hungry each day, and to buy sewing machines and other
supplies.
Council
#81 was proud to support this effort with a charitable donation.
Specific funding needs of the
Home of Divine Mercy over the next five years:
Complete the two room Instruction Building – floors, ceilings, interior
walls and lighting – professor Pulice has raised and committed $5,500 for
completion of the existing two room building expected to be fully functional
this year 2019.
The two
room instruction building has been supported with a donation of a water tank by
a team from England led by Madam Ruth who had a courtesy visit to the Home of
Divine Mercy in September 2018. This is to assist the Girls for their day to
day sanitation.
New dormitory building – $29,000 ($5,000 committed thus far by Professor Pulice
at $1,000 per year over 5 years). This calls for any other possible support and
charitable done to assist in raising the remaining funds of $24,000/for this
dormitory building.
Security Fencing – $18,000/ is required for the safety of these
girls from potential abusers. Time after time intruders distract the running of
the Home of Divine Mercy. The Home is seeking support from any charitable organizations.
Lunch program– $1.00 per day per girl (40 participants) or $200
per week- seeking support from organizations. The number is expected to rise to
over 60 girls this year 2019.
Materials / Supplies – varied costs – seeking support from
organizations. They have few Sewing machines and Knitting machines donated by
TWAM and WorkAid. A donor purchased a knitting machine in late October 2018.
